Peab, through its subsidiary Peab Asfalt in Denmark, has been commissioned to do the paving when the expressway Hillerød-Allerød is converted into a highway. The customer is Zøllner and the contract is worth DKK 82 million, equivalent to SEK 123 million.
Peab Asfalt has been commissioned to do the paving in the conversion of the 13.5 km long expressway between Allerød and Hillerød on Zealand into a four lane highway. The work includes paving four bridges, road markings and milling the existing asphalt pavement where new on and off ramps will be built.
"This is one of our largest orders and it’s very positive for our Danish business. We are also very pleased that the entire delivery will be ECO-Asfalt. This significantly raises the project's green profile and contributes to strengthening our position on the market," says Claus Terkildsen, MD Peab Asfalt Denmark.
The project entails a delivery of 105,000 tons of ECO-Asfalt manufactured with certified biogas instead of natural gas, which is expected to save the project 2,600 tons carbon dioxide.
Peab's client, Zøllner A/S, has been awarded the construction contract by the Danish Road Directorate, Denmark's equivalent to the Swedish Transport Administration.
"Over the years, we've collaborated very well with Peab Asfalt. We have every confidence that with their extensive experience and expertise the work will be done satisfactorily," says Hassan Al-Najar, Department Head, Zøllner.
Work will start in April 2026 and is expected to be completed in May 2027.
The project will be order registered in the third quarter 2025.
