Peab has been commissioned to renovate the town hall in Botkyrka. The customer is Botkyrka Municipality and the contract is worth SEK 440 million.
The renovation includes demolishing and rebuilding existing premises, new technical installations, a new facade and refurbishing the entrance and common areas. The town hall is approximately 13,500 m2 and comprises ten floors.
"We’re proud to have been entrusted with the renovation of Botkyrka Town Hall. The project combines sustainable development with modern solutions and demonstrates the value of enhancing existing buildings to meet future needs. We look forward to working closely with Botkyrka Municipality throughout the entire project," says Fredrik Jihammar, Region Manager Peab.
Modernizing and developing the existing building takes advantage of current resources while reducing the need for new construction.
"This is a major and long-awaited investment for Botkyrka. We look forward to working with Peab to begin creating a modern, open and accessible town hall that meets the needs of Botkyrka residents and our employees – both now and in the future," says Petra Oxonius, Acting Director of Technology and Property at Botkyrka Municipality.
The project’s planning follows the criteria for Miljöbyggnad Silver, focusing on energy efficiency, resource efficient construction and lower climate impact.
The project is a turnkey contract that will start in the autumn of 2026 and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2029.
The project will be order registered in business area Construction in the third quarter 2026.
